What are you views about the level of violence used against the Occupy Movement protesters?

What are you thoughts about the level of violence increasingly being deployed against the Occupy protesters in various cities of the nation? I can understand periodically going through the park to prevent other more serious violations of the law (e.g. violence, drug use, theft, etc), but in the absence of those, shouldn't they just leave the protesters alone and exercise their human right to dialogue about the society they want to live in and engage in civil disobedience in an attempt to get there?
